when i woke up this morning, my head felt 5 times its normal size. i couldn’t breathe out of my nose and my eyes would water after every blink. needless to say, work [when i finally arrived] was not the most fun. so, this evening, after work, i took a longer and more unusual route home to relax and get my mind off things. the wind had died down a little so i decided to brave the cold and follow the red brick road.

the red brick road is actually a sidewalk. and it ends quickly. so i mostly just dragged myself through a slushy path made by 5thousand other shoes before mine. i hate slush. so much. but i was happy i made the decision to take a walk because i got to go past the Toronto Sculpture Garden, which i haven’t done in probably over a year. the latest project, In Sit You, is pretty neat. it is comprised of a rainbow coloured billboard and bench. it was nice to be able to just turn my head and have all the rushing commuters and grey-brown slush suddenly dissapear. even the snow surrounding the exhibit seemed fresh and calm. it brightened my dreary evening, and made me smile at all the strangers i walked by afterwards, so i took a photo of it to share with you.

i’m so happy friday is just 4 minutes away.

III:

+ a nice boy at work gave me a pack of multicoloured marshmallows today. i don’t know why it made me so happy, but it did. i’ve never seen such a small packet of marshmallows before. and they were soft.

+ i fell asleep on the subway today and had three different dreams in 5 minutes. two of them made me jerk myself awake. both times, i made two girls sitting across from me laugh out loud. it was tres embarrassing but it made me laugh too.

+ i got an email from an old friend today. we used to be very close and have lost touch in the last few years. i’m happy that there aren’t any hard feelings surrounding the situation. it made me the happy kind of sad to know i am missed.
